Dungeons and dragons and gas, oh my!

So my friends and I have recently gotten into Dungeons & Dragons when they learned that the board game was in my closet. I have the starter set that I got in 2004, and didn't know anyone interested enough who wanted to play it with me. We got through most of the first dungeon and quit because people were falling asleep, but it was still very enjoyable. All I have are the starter miniatures, and there are only about 16 of those in the box. We needed more! I live in the deep, confederate south part of America, so finding more pieces was going to be a challenge. The only store that was found to have D&D miniatures (or any miniatures for that matter) was about 35-40 minutes away. We made the daring drive, and bought a booster box of miniatures. I ended up getting a "really rare" miniature called Bebelith:
This large tyrant is a level 18 boss with about 600 hp. Our characters do about 10 damage at the moment... But we will get to him (or her?) soon (3 years of playing this goddamn game).

Anyone else have any interesting hobbies similar to this?

Daily...? Not exactly...

I know this is supposed to be your DAILY dose of chaos, but I haven't really had the time to do that this week. I especially won't have the time to do that for the next few days, since I am going to college orientation, and won't be back until Tuesday night, just in time to see LotR: Return of the King! I'll try to squeeze in some blogging time at the hotel, and maybe the dorm room.

Ocarina of Time

So with all the ruckus of the new Ocarina of Time for the 3DS, I decided to be a cheap-ass and NOT buy a 3DS, and instead I found my box of vintage gaming gear and set up my N64 with Ocarina of Time. I've honestly never beaten this game before. It sort of belonged to my dad and he would play it, and he didn't get very far either. I was young at the time and would make it out into Hyrule Field, and if I didn't make it to the castle in time, I would just quit because I was afraid of the zombies. If I did make it to Hyrule castle, I would just go in that vase room and break all the vases and get the money, then I would go to the shop and buy bombs and then go back to the vase room. Rinse, repeat...
I'm going to consider this my FIRST official play-through, and I'm going to do it the right way, on the N64. I'm going to play it in the most original way possible! I'll tell of my tale when my quest is complete.

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers: Extended Extended Edition

Well they are back in theaters, which is a good thing because that is the best place to watch movies anyway. This movie is especially pleasant to watch in theaters, being that if you watch it at home you might wander off or multi-task or have your cock out while "watching." It's much easier to pay attention when you are sitting in a theater because what else are you going to do? I guess you could still have your cock-out, but you'd end up like Paul Reubens (AKA Pee-wee Herman, the theater masturbator).
The last time I saw this movie I was in elementary school seeing this with my friend's overprotective parents who, every time Gimli would make a joke and we would laugh, would proudly state that "You guys like him."
A lot of people consider this the slower of the three movies, with the entire story building up to The Battle of Helm's Deep. Mostly everything before the battle is character to character drama, and this being the extended extended edition there was more character development. I love all of the scenes, and the added character development, but the only problem that I really have with this movie are the long and drawn out romantic scenes. While them being as long as they are is necessary to the dramatic effect, they are also sometimes very boring.
This movie is my second favorite of the three, with Return of the King being my favorite. I can't wait until next Teusday to see it! The ticket has been sitting in my wallet for two weeks now just dying to get out and be used.

First of all...

this is my blog about the various entertainment related thoughts that I have throughout the day. They will be nice. I promise you they will be nice.
